What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in keeping our service and project operations organized and on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:

The Opportunity:
We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Controller to partner closely with our Controller and play a key role in strengthening and scaling our finance function. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a fast-growing, operationally driven environment and wants meaningful ownership, leadership exposure, and a clear path toward future senior finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee core accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, job costing, and general ledger activities.

Lead substantial portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.

Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting packages, KPI dashboards, forecasts, and operational analysis for executive leadership.

Strengthen internal controls, ensure GAAP compliance, and support ongoing financial process improvements.

Coordinate audit and tax deliverables and serve as a key liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners.

Partner with operational teams on job costing, contract profitability, billing accuracy, and percentage-of-completion accounting.

Drive systems optimization, automation initiatives, ERP enhancements, and scalable workflow improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting, construction/service industry, or similar operational environment preferred).

CPA designation (or strong progress toward completion) highly preferred.

Strong technical accounting knowledge with demonstrated GAAP expertise.

Experience working with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage, Infor, QuickBooks, or comparable platforms.

Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting automation.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional accuracy.

Strong communication skills with the confidence to interact cross-functionally with operations and senior leadership.
