We are seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Commercial Estimator to join our team. As an estimator, you’ll work with the project manager on preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of design-build commercial and industrial projects. Your day-to-day will involve reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents, completing detailed material and labour take-offs, and working closely with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and evaluate quotes. You’ll prepare bid submissions, budgets, and cost breakdowns, for the project manager. This role calls for strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of all trades, pricing strategies, the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment to deliver competitive bids and support the company's growth. You’ll also maintain pricing databases and historical cost information while building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendors
Job Responsibilities:
· Review project plans, specifications and contract documents thoroughly to determine scope of work and material requirements.
· Complete comprehensive quantity take-offs across all trades
· Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, and bids using drawing take-offs, and technical specifications. Developing comprehensive cost breakdowns including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, overhead and risk allowances.
· Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information, assess site conditions, and verify quantities for precise estimations
· Attend pre-bid site meetings and walkthroughs
· Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and availability while maintaining and building a strong network of subcontractors, suppliers and industry database
· Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference. As well as maintaining current and accurate information on supplier prices, price lists, unit prices and quantity estimates.
· Work closely with Project Manager to position bids for success.
· Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy and efficiency
· Adhere to company policies and procedures
· Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
· General knowledge of all trades – HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, Flooring, Etc.
· 3+ years of mechanical construction or coordination experience
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings / blueprints and technical specifications.
· Experience with basic computer use and common programs such as Microsoft outlook, word and excel
· Customer service experience.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively collaborate with team members and customers effectively
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a Team.
· Possess a strong work ethic and high standards of integrity.
· Considered an asset if experienced with commercial kitchens and commercial food / cooking equipment
Requirements:
